RevoDrive3x2 Windows 10 x64 - Hang/Freeze loading drivers during Windows 10 Setup

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and decided to do a clean install via USB using the "Media Creation Tool" from Microsoft. This works great and my setup works when installing to a SATA Samsung SSD, but when I try to install Windows 10 to my RevoDrive3x2 I can't. When trying to load the drivers the system freezes after a few seconds stopping me from installing any further, see attached image. Can anyone help? I also need to understand the correct setup for using UEFI too. I have a setting in my BIOS under the CMS section that allows me to switch between legacy and UEFI for PCI-E booting.

I'm using the following:

  • OCZ v2.0.0.4794 Drivers (x64)
  • Windows 10 x64
  • Booting from USB
  • ASUS Rampage IV Extreme motherboard
Any help as soon as possible would be great as I am now without a PC and currently using my work PC to post this question.

RevoDrive3x2 Unable to detect in Windows 10 Pro 64bit installation

Hi all,

I tried using a bootable USB flash drive (used with rufus software) and windows 10 64bit ISO but unfortunately during the setup, i couldn't load the drivers for the revodrive. I have downloaded Driver Version: 2.0.0.4794 and store inside the flash drive. I do not know what's the problem and i need some assistance on this issue.

Mainboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula
Drives: RevoDrive3 x2
OS: Windows 10 64bit Pro

OCZ RevoDrive running at PCI-E 1x??

On my old system, my OCZ Revodrive (which runs at PCI-E 2.0 4x) would work just fine and would bench at 950MB/s. On my new EVGA x99 classified board with an Intel 5960x CPU (I should have plenty of PCI lanes), it doesn't seem to matter what slot I put it in, it always runs at 1x. This is pretty frustrating!
 
I have 2 GPU's. One in the top slot PE1 and one in the PE4 slot. I've tried putting the revodrive in PE3 and PE6 and both run the card at 1x.... I know a 3.0 1x slot does 2.5Gbps which is about 1GB/s so the card should not be bottlenecking by this 1x slot... On POST, it shows 2.5Gbps speed though which is strange.

Is this card not backwards compatible if put in a gen3 slot?

I've set the PCI-E slot to be Gen2 only but that has caused the Revodrive to disappear on POST randomly... really frustrating!

I have tried pretty much everything i can possibly can even think to get those my very old firmware and bios updated to my SSD but no, nothng helps. I have downloaded new driver and all from downloads and SSD guru aswell, and i have made bootable media to USB. Made needed changes to BIOS so it will boot from USB, well, 1st it says kernell and something loaded, and everything is looking great. After that it reboots and says image is not readable or something like that plus like 10 other error messages. Would there be ANY chance for me to get those very old firmware and BIOS updated to my SSD?

If there is any1 who could help me with this problem i would be super happy :)

It might be just me but i think the drive would perform better and faster if i could do those things :/

Ideal slot at my mootherboard X99-DELUXE

hello, What is a slot for connecting my drive RevoDrive 3 perfect shots to drive as fast as possible. My motherboard is the Asus X99-DELUXE. GPU is in the first slot I now have a disc in the slot PCIEXP_3 and unfortunately disk is not used to full speed. In SSD Guru I got word That the drive will only run at PCIe Gen 2 1x5TB. Thank you for your help. Erik

Hi,
   First sorry my broken english.
   After windows 10 install i have issues and my system freeze some seconds.
   In windows events i have too many errors like this:

Request failed on \Device\0000002b, physical disk 0. 
Adapter \Device\RaidPort1 received srs interrupt.
The ES operation on the logical block address 0x10767418 to Disk 3 (PDO name: \ Device \ 0000002b) was repeated.

Revodrive is not my boot drive.

I cannot see any drivers for this  - do they not exist?

This is for an HP  server - Z400  - with a single Zeon

If not have the Windows 10 64 bit drivers worked for anyone is thus type of use?

PCIe Slot Question for RevoDrive 3 x2

I am putting my RevoDrive 3 x2 into a new system which is a Dell Precision 7810. The system already has two Nvidia Quadro Video cards in the x16 75w slots, but I have one PCIe 3x8 25w available I could put the RevoDrive 3 x2 in. I also see another slot that is awfully close to the second nvidia that says PCIe 2x4 25w

Will that slot be enough to run the RevoDrive 3 x2 at full speed?

At power on - indicators light blue "1POV", "VNR PG", "1.0V", "2.85V" and yellow LEDs "ACT0", "ACT1", "ACT2", "ACT3", flashing yellow "ACT". LED "FLT" do not burn. Then the yellow lights "ACT2" "ACT3" "ACT0" go off, the indicator "ACT1" does not go off, Initializing Drive ....... False. Reinstalling the driver don't helped.

Revodrive3 x2 poor performance on WIN10

Hi,
I recently upgrated to Win10 64bit and I am getting poor performance from my C drive revodrive.

Using HD Tune I'm getting only 200-250 MB read per second. Under Win7 I had ~800MB/s.

Things I have done thus far:
bios(1.6.4), firmare(2.25) and driver(2.0.0.4794) updated.
Disable TRIM, search indexing, page file, hibernation, OS recovery and Pre/Superfetch
In the Mobo bios (version m6 latest) there are options to tweak the PCI version control, hard set to 2 now.
Revodrive card is in the 2nd PCI slot.

Any ideas?

RevoDrive 3 x2 480gb hangs on reboot

so, my revodrive which i purchased in December of 2012 has been acting odd. On the first boot of a day, be it morning, noon or night the system will boot up and act mostly normal. I say mostly because on some occasions it will BSOD during whatever task I'm in the middle of. That I haven't nailed down entirely to the card but it isn't impossible that it could just be Windows being itself... my main issue is however, upon reboot either from a BSOD or Windows updates or driver updates the card hangs on post.

It varies on how far the post gets, sometimes it gets to posting the bandwidth @ 5.0Gbps and [OK] and hangs after that...
other times it gets to "Initializing Drive......" putting up a slew of 'dots' and then hangs...

rarely does it actually get through and when it does... it's sluggish and extremely laggy.

The system temps are all well below any threshold and there's plenty of airflow directed directly at the card. There's no dust accumulation and the bios and firmware are as up-to-date as I can tell.

Any ideas?

[Revodrive 3x2 - Windows10] System Freeze-Disk Usage 100% when playing Fallout 4 [solved software]

Hello,

This all started when I had BSOD last month on Windows 7. I've formatted my Revodrive and did a secure erase by booting with the SSD Guru toolbox.

The first issue I had was that a program was trying to access a memory that was already in use.
After I deleted everything and installed windows 10, this issue stopped happening.

However now, when playing Fallout 4 (it's the only 3D game I've tested so far) the whole system freezes. I've been trying to understand what's going on. Then I saw that the disk usage, in the windows task manager, is 100% for the revodrive when the freeze happens, and it doesn't go back to normal. I need to manually power down the machine in order to get it to work again.

Is there any kind of information that you would need to make a diagnosis about this?

Hello Everybody,

I’m having problem booting with my Revodrive 3 X2 and I hope someone could help me.

TL;DR:
My Revodrive takes about 10 min. While trying to initialize, a message with "PD Signature not detected" is shown, "Initializing Drive..." show 'FAILED' and the card don’t work anymore. I want to know how to corret this problem!

Long history:

I have this card since December 2011 and hasn’t have any problem until now. Every time I boot the computer, the Revodrive stay a long time in “Initializing Drive…” state (about 10 min.). In meanwhile while initializing, the main IC (with the heat sink) starts to get very hot.

After 10 min. initializing it shows a ‘PD Signature Not Detected’; FAILED for "Initializing Drive...", ‘OK’ for the card BIOS and the boot goes on. In the next step, it shows me 60GB of memory (instead of 240). The card is shown at the BIOS as a disk but I can’t boot to the OS installed on it anymore. (Images at the end)

To diagnose the problem I booted into an Ubuntu distro using USB. After doing some research I’ve found that I can see the drive at /dev and it’s shown like 3 separate drives with 60GB each, like detailed at the fdisk -l (/dev/sdb, /dev/sdc, and /dev/sdd)

I’ve installed SSD Guru from OCZ site on Ubuntu and the software identify, again, 3 60GB separated drives. Additionnaly, all SMART information are ok and the software shows 100% health for the drives. (Images at the end)

I've also tryied to use a bootable SSDGuru provided by OCZ, but the program can't detect the Revodrive.

So, considering this situation, I presume that the Revodirve is using 4 60GB memory arrays and using RAID to get de 240 GB. Since I can’t see 1 of those 4 disks I’m considering that something is wrong with one of the memory arrays and that’s leading to the general fault.

I have done some cleaning on the board, separating the 2 attached arrays from the mainboard, removing the heat sink and cleaning everything very carefully with isopropyl alcohol. Used a good thermal paste and reattached the heat sink.

The problem didn’t go away.

I think that this cleaning wasn’t enough, and I wasn’t able to find any physical problems at the line card.

So, my question is, how do I know which memory array is damaged and where to check for physical problems on the board to find the main cause? Has anyone had a similar problem? Can anybody point me other places and things to look?

revodrive 3 x2 120go fail ... help !

Hi !
I have my revodrive 3 X2 until 3,4 years and now it's failing ...
It only show 60 go in the initialzing sequence at boot and says something like ... "bad cheksum bios - failed state drive" ...
it's seems the raid 0 inside the card is no longer working ...

this problem started after a secure erase and a new windows installation ... i have got a blue screen then this error at boot ...

is there a way to reinitialize the raid array ?
The drive is still show in windows (with 120go of unnalocated space) but as soon i try to write to it i get a blue scrren ...

So far i tried to reflash firmware and bios but the problem remains ...

So if someone have a way (maybe with linux) to "rebuild" the raid0 array please help ... and if not (dead card) ... grrrr i never buy theses expensives cards again !

And the last question if the card is dead can ocz repair it for reasonnable cost ?

Windows 10 novembre update error C1900101-20017

Hi all,
when i install windows 10 november update, during reboot i have this error message :

Error C1900101-20017

The subtext detail tells that in the SAFE_OS phase during the boot process, the installer failed. The issue reportedly occurs because of a faulty BIOS setting.

Is it a ocz driver issue ?

Cloning of Revodrive 3

I have a 2 year old pc with a Revodrive 3 SSD which is my boot disk. Is it possible to clone this disk? Ideally I would like to clone it to an identical RevodDrive 3 with the same memory capacity, but I would be happy to clone it to some other device if that device was bootable.
